Christina M. Brogden advises corporations on employment and labor law matters, including wrongful termination claims, wage and hour disputes under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the Private Attorney General Act (PAGA), failure to accommodate claims, employment discrimination disputes for alleged Title VII and/or Fair Employment and Housing Act violations, employment law disputes, and she investigates and responds to allegations of discrimination brought before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Most recently, Christina provides guidance to companies on COVID-19 legislation under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act; the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended; the Family Medical Leave Act; the Emergency Family Medical Leave Expansion Act; the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act; and, the CARES Act. among others.

Prior to consulting for Fenwick West, Christina worked as an Associate Attorney with Lewis Brisbois and Kaufman, Dolowich & Voluck where she was responsible for defending companies against employment discrimination, employment law, labor law, wage and hour, and ERISA claims filed in federal or state court and with the EEOC, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and the California Department of Industrial Relations. Christina has appeared before judges in federal and state court and in mediations in both single and multiple Plaintiff causes of action. Christina also provides day to day advice and counsel to employers on various employment issues, and she has extensive experience conducting investigations for government and private employers as well as handling requests for reasonable accommodations for large companies and government Agencies including the US Patent and Trademark Office and San Mateo County. Prior to entering into private litigation, Christina worked for federal agencies including the US Patent and Trademark Office in the Washington, DC area for 4 years in employment law, and the US Department of Agriculture in IP law. While in law school, Christina served as a junior and senior staff member on the USF Law Review and she was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Justices Martin Jenkins and Maria Rivera with the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District. Christina received an award from the ABA for her excellence in the study of Labor and Employment Law and she was recently nominated by the Lawyers of Distinction as among the 2020 Power Lawyers.
