Experience
Kenneth F. Brooks joined the BrooksGroup when it was formed in 2012 and provides intellectual property counsel experience for solo inventors as well as corporate R&D. Ken’s practice as both in-house counsel as well as in a law-firm setting covers a variety of IP and IP-adjacent matters including patent application drafting & prosecution, patentability opinions, clearance searches, trademark matters, as well as contractual agreements, royalties, and licensing.
Ken led an in-house legal department as General Counsel & IP Attorney where he successfully expanded the IP generation and protection program far beyond its original scope, helping cement the company as an R&D forward entity. After re-entering private practice, Ken has focused on helping individuals and companies protect their IP through a variety of strategies and leading techniques. Ken’s technical experience covers a range of technologies including integrated electrical & mechanical systems; software/computer science arts; and consumer products and processes.
