Charlotte Tao,
Co-Founder at Trusli
Previously at Lyft, Uber, Zoox, Salesforce
Charlotte leads the technical and product teams at Trusli with her extensive expensive in machine learning and product management. Charlotte earned her MS in Information Science from the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign and MBA from Kent State University with full scholarships. She spent the first few years of her career as a data scientist in Salesforce and Uber where she launched multiple automated analytics pipelines. Later on, she transitioned to technical product management with self-driving car teams, including Zoox and Lyft Level 5. Before founding Trusli, she launched complex machine learning products with 9 US patents, such as simulation platforms for self-driving cars, data security, high-definition mapping, sensor localization, and computer vision.
Charlotte finds great passion in bringing machine learning to the general public, not just the tech elites. She left the self-driving car industry to legal tech with the belief that the legal world is ready to bring about fundamental changes that will not only improve efficiency for lawyers but also support everyone looking for accessible legal services.
Our core team members are seasoned lawyers, Silicon Valley veterans who worked on multiple successful startups from digital health to autonomous vehicles, Data Scientists, Machine Learning experts, and Marketing gurus. We are funded by notable investors in legal tech and are actively expanding our team.
Gloria Qiao,
Founder & CEO
MBA, Duke Fuqua
JD, Emory School of Law
Licensed attorney in NY and CA
Gloria graduated from Emory University School of Law with her JD, Order of the Coif. She’s a licensed attorney in both NY and CA. She then spent four years practicing as a corporate attorney at wall street law firms such as Davis Polk and Kirkland Ellis. Having more passion for business and technology, she went to get her MBA at Duke Fuqua, and after that spent the last decade working for large tech companies such as Apple and Samsung. Finding more passion and excitement in the startup world, she then led large teams at self-driving car startups such as Zoox, GM Cruise, and Motional, building procurement systems and processes and procuring bleeding edge software.
When Gloria saw an opportunity to use what she knew about machine learning and software to innovate how the legal industry works, she took the leap and founded Trusli with Charlotte Tao, whom she met at Zoox. It’s rare to have a founder who understands both legal practice and technology. Gloria is one of the few. Combining her deep understanding of lawyer’s pain points, her knowledge of machine learning, and her experience implementing the best-in-class software solutions, Gloria is here to push legal technology, specifically legal practice automation, to the next level.
Robin Diane Goldstein,
Chief Strategy Officer
MIT and Albany Law School
A graduate of MIT (SB, MCP) and Albany Law School (JD), Robin’s legal career has included notable roles as the first Chief Patent Counsel at Sony Corporation of America, and Principal Counsel at Apple where, for over 22 years, she was a member of the original iPod, iMac and Apple Watch teams. While at Apple Robin also held positions as Senior Engineering Manager, Product Marketing Manager, and Instructor at Apple University. Robin’s interest in policy and disruptive innovation then led her to the autonomous Robotaxi start-up Zoox, where she served as Chief of Staff and Acting Head of Policy and Regulatory. More recently Robin has been an advisor and presenter in the Stanford Biodesign Program, and been guiding founders in the AI, Mobility, Digital Health and Cybersecurity space.
Robin believes the most powerful question you can ask is “Why?” and that innovation should not be limited to building a “less-bad” version of what already exists. When she was 19 she collected a 25¢ toll from Art Garfunkel during her summer job as a toll taker on the New York State Thruway (Exit 16 - Harriman).
